  • Each coin has a maximum withdrawal quantity (e.g. 50 BTC, 500 ETH, 500,000 XRP, 500 SOL, 100,000 ADA, 100 BNB). No period is given, so it is treated here as per send. Source

First crypto send-out

FINX JCrypto publishes no waiting period for new accounts. To send crypto out you first register the destination address and wait for FINX JCrypto to approve it; then you can request a send with 2-step verification. Only the custody-account balance can be sent. Requests accepted in support hours (weekdays 9:00–17:00) are normally processed within 2 days counting from the next day; requests outside those hours are accepted in the next support hours.

Protections against fraud

  • Each destination address is reviewed by FINX JCrypto, and you can't send to it until it's approved (reviews happen in support hours; up to 10 addresses per coin).
  • Crypto sends and yen withdrawals always require 2-step verification (email, SMS or an authenticator app).
  • Deposits and withdrawals that need extra checks under the law are held until you answer FINX JCrypto's questions.
  • Under the terms, sending to or receiving from addresses that blockchain analysis or other information links to money laundering, sanctions breaches, crime or gambling is prohibited.
  • Sends to destinations that can't receive a Travel Rule notice (such as exchanges not using Sygna) aren't accepted.
  • Repeated deposits and withdrawals unrelated to trading are prohibited by the terms and can lead to the account being suspended.

How to open an account

  1. 1

Register your email and set a password

Open the official site in a web browser, enter your email and apply. Follow the link in the email to set a password, then log in.

    1. Apply in a web browser; the smartphone app only works once your account has been approved. Supported browsers are Chrome, Safari and Edge.
    2. On the official home page press 「かんたん口座開設はこちらから」, enter your email and press 「新規口座開設を申込む」.
    3. Open the link in the email from Coin Estate. If it hasn't arrived, check your spam folder and that you typed the address correctly.
    4. Type a password twice to set it: at least 8 half-width characters including digits, lower-case and upper-case letters.
    5. You're taken to the login screen; log in with your email and password. At this point you're only provisionally registered.

Tip It's one account per person, and you can't apply twice with the same email.

  2. 2

Agree to the terms and documents

After your first login, open and read each document on the agreement screen, tick the boxes and press 「同意して次に進む」.

    1. They include the basic terms (「暗号資産現物取引サービス基本約款」), the privacy policy, the pre-contract document (「暗号資産現物取引サービス説明書」), the 「重要事項」 notice, the complaints procedure, the anti-organised-crime policies and the FJ Point terms.
    2. You also agree to receive trade reports and other documents electronically.
    3. The declarations include that you aren't a US citizen or resident with US tax obligations and that you don't have restricted legal capacity (for example, being under guardianship). If either applies, don't tick it and stop the application.
    4. The pre-contract document explains that you trade directly with FINX JCrypto and that prices include a spread. Make sure you understand how it works and the risks before continuing.

Tip Choosing 「いいえ、同意しません」 stops the application.

  3. 3

Choose how to verify your identity

Pick one of three routes to suit your documents and devices: reading your My Number card, photographing your ID and face, or uploading documents and receiving a mailed code.

    1. My Number card reading: needs an NFC-capable smartphone, the Mynaportal app (マイナアプリ) and a valid My Number card. It's the officially recommended and fastest route.
    2. ID photos and face check: use your driver's licence, residence card or special permanent resident certificate, and photograph it and your face with a smartphone.
    3. Upload documents and receive mail: for people without a smartphone. It needs two documents and receiving mail at your registered address, so it's the slowest (about a week).
    4. Foreign nationals must submit a residence card or special permanent resident certificate.

Tip Even if you apply on a PC, the card reading and the ID photos are done on a smartphone via the QR code on screen.

  4. 4

Read your My Number card with your phone

Press 「マイナアプリを起動する」 and approve in the Digital Agency's Mynaportal app; your name, address and date of birth are filled in from the card.

    1. Install the Mynaportal app if you don't have it. If you're applying on a PC, scan the QR code on screen with your phone to continue.
    2. Enter the card's signature certificate password (6–16 letters and digits) and hold the card to your phone. Complete the approval within 15 minutes.
    3. Five wrong passwords in a row lock the card, which then has to be unlocked at your municipal office or a convenience store. Check the password beforehand if you're unsure.
    4. After approval, tap 「利用中のサービスへ移動」 in the app, then 「進む」 on the Coin Estate screen, and go back to the browser where you're applying. A PC screen moves on by itself.
    5. If the card's record doesn't hold your full date of birth, this route won't work; choose another one.

Tip If you change the name or address taken from the card, you may be asked why.

  5. 5

Enter your details and answer the questions

Enter your nationality, name in katakana, tax residence, occupation, purpose of trading, income, assets, investment experience and more, then check the confirmation screen and submit.

    1. On the My Number card route your name, address and date of birth are already filled in; check them and add the postcode if it's empty. On the other routes, type them exactly as on your ID.
    2. If you have a middle name, also enter your first name in the Middle Name and First Name field.
    3. Fill in your mobile number and main contact, occupation, purpose of trading (several allowed), how you found Coin Estate, annual income, financial assets and each type of investment experience.
    4. Answer the declarations about PEPs (senior foreign public figures) and legal capacity (that you aren't a minor or under guardianship or similar).
    5. Declare your tax residence country. Pressing 「登録」 counts as filing the notification required under the tax-reporting law.
    6. See "Application questions explained" below for what each question means, and answer every item truthfully.

Tip If the address you register differs from the one on your ID, the account can't be opened. If you've moved, update the address on your ID first.

  6. 6

If you use ID photos and a face check

If you're not using the My Number card, after submitting your details continue on your phone via the QR code shown, and photograph your ID and your face.

    1. Use one of: driver's licence, residence card, or special permanent resident certificate.
    2. If you're already on your phone, long-press the QR code, or take a screenshot and open it with a QR reader.
    3. The capture runs on the online ID check (eKYC) service of Nexway Co., Ltd. Follow the on-screen instructions to photograph the document and your face.
    4. Make sure the whole document is in the frame and sharp.

Tip You can go back and pick a different method, but anything entered so far is lost.

  7. 7

Verify your mobile number by SMS

Enter your mobile number, press 「コード発行」, type the 6-digit code from the SMS and press 「認証」 to complete the application.

    1. Landlines and foreign phone numbers can't be used.
    2. If no code arrives, check the number, your SMS blocking settings, airplane mode and so on. If a code expires, press 「コード発行」 again.
    3. Finish this within 10 days of submitting your ID; if it's left too long you may have to start again.
    4. When 「口座開設申込を受付ました」 appears, the application is complete.

Tip Once the account is open, you can switch the 2-step verification used for logins, sends and withdrawals between email, SMS and an authenticator app (Google Authenticator) under 「設定」.

  8. 8

    If you verify by post

Without a smartphone, choose the upload-and-mail route and upload two documents. After review, enter the confirmation code (取引時確認コード) that comes by post on My Page to finish.

    1. Upload two documents showing your current address from group A, or one from group A and one from group B. Group A includes the driver's licence, My Number card (front only) and residence card; group B is receipts for utilities, social insurance or taxes.
    2. Group B receipts must be from the last 6 months and show your name, current address and the date paid; bills and notices aren't accepted.
    3. Files can be bmp, gif, jpg, png, pdf or heic, up to 5MB each. They must be sharp and show the whole document; include the back where there is one (front only for the My Number card).
    4. After review you get an email saying the code is being mailed; the non-forwardable letter usually arrives 2–4 days later at your registered address. You can't choose a delivery time or another address.
    5. If you miss the delivery, arrange redelivery using the slip; if the post office's holding period has passed, contact support through the form.
    6. Log in to My Page, open 「転送不要郵便(取引時確認コード)」, enter the code and register it to complete the opening.

Tip This route takes about a week in all; a smartphone route is faster if you can use one.

  9. 9

    Review, then your account opens

FINX JCrypto reviews your application and emails the result. With the My Number card route you can start as soon as the same day, but review can take a week or more.

    1. While it's under review you'll see 「口座開設の審査中です」; the result comes by email.
    2. If something is missing or doesn't match, you may be asked to confirm or resubmit. You may also be contacted if you used a substitute for a kanji variant that couldn't be typed.
    3. If the account can't be opened, the reasons aren't disclosed.
    4. Once the account is open you can also use the smartphone app (iOS and Android).

Tip Replies to enquiries usually come within 1–2 business days (there's no phone support).

Deposit yen, move it to the trading account and buy

Deposit yen by bank transfer or quick deposit from 「入金・入庫」 on My Page, move it from the custody account to the trading account, then buy on the sales desk.

    1. Bank transfer: send yen from an account in your own name to your dedicated account shown under 「日本円銀行振込」. You pay your bank's fee.
    2. Quick deposit: under 「日本円クイック入金」 choose one of 100+ partner banks and pay through online banking. It's credited immediately at any hour, costs ¥440 and is capped at ¥999,999 per deposit.
    3. Deposits land in the custody account (保管口座). To trade, move funds to the trading account (取引口座) with 「口座振替」.
    4. Open 「販売所」, pick a coin and buy with a streaming order (by yen amount or by quantity) or a limit order. There's no trading fee, but prices include a spread.
    5. To withdraw yen or send crypto later, first move it back from the trading account to the custody account.

Tip Transfers from anyone else's account are returned to the sender (kumimodoshi), at your cost.

Application questions explained

What each question means and how to answer it accurately. Always answer truthfully. Answers that don't match reality lead to rejection or a frozen account.

Occupation
What it means
Used for identity checks and to judge whether your trading suits your circumstances.
How to answer
Pick your current occupation as it is. There are options for part-time, casual, agency and contract work, homemakers, students, and retired or unemployed people, so choose whichever honestly applies. If none fits, choose "Other" and type your occupation.
Purpose of trading (several allowed)
What it means
Required under Japan's anti-money-laundering law: what you will use the account for.
How to answer
Choose your real purposes, such as growing your assets, investing surplus funds or spreading your investments (you can pick several). If none fits, choose "Other" and describe it. Note that the opening criteria include being willing to make trades that can lose principal.
How you came to apply
What it means
Asks how you came to use Coin Estate.
How to answer
Pick the real reason, such as the website, a web article, social media, a friend's referral or a campaign; otherwise choose "Other". There's no need to worry about it affecting the review.
Annual income
What it means
Helps judge whether your trading is within your means. The opening criteria require you to declare your income or financial assets.
How to answer
Choose your approximate pre-tax income. If it's low or zero, the lowest band is fine. Overstating gives no advantage and can trigger follow-up checks later.
Financial assets
What it means
Total cash and deposits, stocks, funds, bonds and the like; the form says real assets such as property are excluded.
How to answer
Choose the approximate total in your own name (not your family's). A small amount is fine; just answer honestly.
Investment experience (crypto spot, leveraged FX or crypto, stocks, margin or futures, other)
What it means
For each product you choose how long you've traded it, so the exchange can check you understand the risks.
How to answer
For anything you haven't traded, choosing the no-experience option is fine. Overstating experience gives no advantage. Read the pre-contract document on the risks and how trading works before you start.
PEP declaration
What it means
Asks whether you hold (or held) an important public position in a foreign country, or are a relative of someone who does. The opening criteria require that you are not a PEP.
How to answer
If it doesn't apply, choose the option saying you're not a PEP; if you become one later, you must tell the exchange straight away. If it does apply, you can't open an account.
Legal capacity declaration
What it means
Confirms that you aren't a minor or a person with restricted legal capacity (under guardianship, curatorship or assistance).
How to answer
Declare it only if it's true. Only people aged 18 or over with full legal capacity can open an account.
Tax residence country
What it means
A filing under Japan's crypto reporting rules (CARF): the countries where you pay income tax. Pressing 「登録」 submits the filing.
How to answer
If you only pay tax in Japan, declare Japan only. If you also owe tax elsewhere, add each country with its taxpayer number (or the reason you can't give one). With four or more countries, declare them through the contact form. Ask a tax professional if you're unsure.

Tips for a smooth signup

  • The My Number card route (an NFC phone and the Mynaportal app) is the fastest, as soon as the same day. Check your card's signature certificate password (6–16 letters and digits) beforehand.
  • There's no upper age limit, so people aged 75 and over can apply too.
  • If you plan to send crypto out, register destination addresses early: each one is reviewed, and reviews happen on weekdays 9:00–17:00.
  • Before sending to another exchange, check it's on the official FAQ list of exchanges you can send to; bitFlyer, Coincheck and Binance Japan aren't (as of 31 Aug 2026). Crypto sent to a wrong address or network can't be recovered.
  • Only some coins can be sent out. DOGE, PEPE, TRX, AVAX, POL, ARB, LINK, HBAR and SUI are trade-only for now.
  • If you hold Oasys (OAS), sell it by 27 Oct 11:59 or send it out by 30 Oct 11:59. Anything left after the delisting is converted to yen by FINX JCrypto.
