Highlights

  • The operator, BITPOINT Japan, merged into SBI VC Trade on 1 Apr 2026; SBI VC Trade now runs the BITPOINT service

  • Applications for early transfer to VCTRADE are due to open on 10 Nov 2026; otherwise accounts are due to move automatically around the end of December
  • If you have no VCTRADE account, one is created for you; if you do, your BITPOINT account is merged into it (no need to open one yourself beforehand)

Terms & conditions

  • New accounts are no longer accepted; newcomers are directed to the VCTRADE service
  • (For reference) the last published criteria were ages 18–80 at opening, living in Japan, and not being a US citizen or US resident, among others (latest official page found: January 2023)

Restrictions

  • OSHI, JMY, DEP, BNB, PEPE and TRUMP (BITPOINT-only coins) are delisted on 28 Oct 2026; withdrawal requests close at 13:00 that day, and anything left is sold and credited in yen
  • BITPOINT PRO (the order book) ends at 10:00 on 30 Oct 2026; open orders are not carried over
  • Recurring-buy (tsumitate) settings don't transfer; set them up again on VCTRADE if you want to continue
  • If you don't have a VCTRADE account, you'll need to complete a first-login setup after the transfer (details to be announced)
  • VCTRADE doesn't pay staking rewards in yen (you can receive JPYSC instead, but JPYSC is not yen)
  • Keep your details (address, phone, email, occupation, etc.) up to date; if they differ from your VCTRADE details, the accounts may not be recognised as the same person's

Tips for a smooth signup

  • If you're opening a new account, choose SBI VC Trade (VCTRADE), run by the same company. Existing BITPOINT accounts are also due to move there around the end of December.
